A is for AARON SPELLING
Executive producer Aaron Spelling has been responsible for some of the most popular and entertaining shows on TV: from Beverly Hills, 90210
and 7th Heaven, to Melrose Place, Hotel, Dynasty and Hart to Hart.
B is for the BOOK OF SHADOWS
An ancient antique book that foretells the arrival of three sisters known
as The Charmed Ones, who are the most powerful of a long line of good witches. Phoebe found the Book of Shadows in the attic of the Victorian house they inherited from their grandmother. The sisters unique powers were restored after Phoebe recited a spell.
C is also for COLE
Also known as Belthazor, sexy half-human, half-demon Cole Turner was the ultimate Big Bad of the series. Cole fell in love with Phoebe when he was a DA and the pair had a stormy relationship in every sense of the word. Cole made numerous attempts to try and kill the Halliwell sisters, but ultimately, his love for Phoebe won out, and he couldn't do it. The lovers went to great lengths to try and hide their affair. Phoebe even
faked Cole's death and lied to her sisters. But as deep as her love
for Cole was, Phoebe knew he had to be vanquished.
D is for DARRYL
Lieutenant Darryl Morris has become an invaluable friend and ally to The
Charmed Ones. Aware of their secret, he continues to do whatever a mere mortal can to keep them out of harms way.
E is for EAMES
Eames is a very powerful and ancient warlock. After killing a Darklighter
and stealing his crossbow the warlock threatened the very
existence of all Whitelighters.
F is for FOURTH SEASON
Season four saw the introduction of a new character, Paige Matthews, played by Rose McGowan. The rumor mill was working overtime with regard to which actress would step into the shoes of the third Charmed One, before Rose eventually joined the cast. Actresses allegedly considered for the part included Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Eliza Dushku
G is for GRAMS
Penny (Grams) Halliwell was an extremely powerful witch. She
raised the girls after the death of their mother. When Grams herself passed
away from a heart-attack, she left her San Francisco home to her beloved
granddaughters.
G is also for GUEST STARS
Numerous famous faces have appeared over the course of six seasons. They include Harry Groener (Buffy), French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun), Armin Shimerman (Buffy, DS9) and Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street). And season seven sees reality TV star and singer Nick Lachey joining the cast for six episodes, as Phoebe's new love interest!
H is for HOW SOON IS NOW?
The fantastic theme song is performed by Love Spit Love. The track also
featured in the 1996 movie The Craft, which was also about, er, witchcraft. How Soon Is Now? was originally a song by The Smiths.
I is for INSPECTOR TRUDEAU
Andy Trudeau was Prue's ex-boyfriend. The pair were high school
sweethearts. Andy found it difficult to accept Prue's true identity,
when she revealed her witchy powers to him. The dashing detective was
killed by a demon, while coming to the sisters aid.
J is for JEREMY
Piper's ex-boyfriend actually turned out to be an evil warlock not to mention a serial killer who preyed on witches! The sisters first spell vanquished him.
K is for KIT
Kit ran away after Paige became one of The Charmed Ones. Kit
is now a human called Katrina.
L is for LEO
Leo Wyatt is a Whitelighter and Piper's husband. The Powers That
Be did not approve of their relationship. But even though being with Piper
was against all the rules, their love knew no bounds and their relationship
was cemented by the birth of Wyatt. Cool, calm and level-headed (not to
mention rather adorable!), Leo has become The Charmed Ones very
own guardian angel.
M is for MELINDA WARREN
Melinda was the very first witch in the family. She was burned at the
stake when people discovered her true identity. She was able to cast a
spell and subsequently, every witch that descended from her would grow
more powerful until finally there would be 3 sisters. The Charmed
Ones.
M is also for MUSIC
Like Buffy, Charmed features some of the coolest musical talents around.
The show has incorporated tracks from artists such as The Cranberries,
Moby and The Barenaked Ladies. The official soundtrack album was released in September 2003 it includes songs by Vanessa Carlton, The Stereophonics and Goldfrapp.
N is for NATALIE
A by-the-book Whitelighter who appears in the third season episode Blinded by the Whitelighter. She is killed when The Charmed Ones follow her plan rather than their own instincts. Her death provides a valuable lesson!
O is for the ORIGINAL PHOEBE
In the original pilot episode, the role of Phoebe Halliwell was actually
played by Lori Rom. But the actress, who has appeared in Dawson's
Creek and Party of Five, left for personal reasons.
P is for PRUDENCE HALLIWELL
As the eldest Halliwell, Prue sacrificed her childhood to help raise her
sisters. Consequently, she was always the most responsible sibling. Prue
never really gotten over the fact that evil forces seeking to destroy The
Charmed Ones caused the death of her childhood sweetheart Andy Trudeau with whom she was reunited after discovering her magical heritage. Prue had the ability to move
things with her mind, and she could perform astral projection. Her death
almost destroyed The Charmed Ones
Q is for QUAKE
Piper worked as a chef at Quake. She later went on to manage the establishment.
R is for REX
Prue's devious boss was secretly a warlock. He briefly dated Phoebe.
But his most heinous act was to frame Prue for stealing a priceless tiara
resulting in a spell in the slammer for the eldest Halliwell!
S is for SAN FRANCISCO
Charmed is set in San Francisco but the series is filmed in Los Angeles.
S is also for SAM
Sam was their mother's Whitelighter. It was his job to watch over
Patty Halliwell. But the two had an affair, resulting in the birth of
Paige.
S is also for THE SOURCE
In short, evil with a capital E. The Source constantly tries to destroy
The Charmed Ones. Perhaps one of The Source's most despicable acts (and there have been many!) was plotting to impregnate Phoebe with his evil spawn. Well, he had taken over Cole's body at the time.
T is for TRIQUETRA
The triquetra sign appears on the cover of the Book of Shadows and has
become something of a logo for the show. The symbol has different meanings depending on the religion or culture involved.
U is for the UNDERWORLD
A sinister place where Dark Magic rules!
V is for VICTOR
Victor was father to Prue, Piper and Phoebe. Shortly after Victor divorced Patty, he walked out of their lives. When he did eventually come back on the scene, Prue and Piper weren't particularly happy to see their estranged father. But eventually they managed to patch up their differences.
W is for WHITELIGHTER
A Whitelighter is a dead mortal who has been sent back to Earth to protect and advise. They have the power to heal, hover and orb from one location to another. Relationships between Whitelighters and witches are, ahem, strictly forbidden!
W is also for WYATT
Wyatt Matthew Halliwell is Piper and Leo's first child. When Wyatt was born, demons tried to steal the baby in order to turn him into a powerful evil being. But thankfully, The Charmed Ones kept him alive and safe. Wyatt has numerous special powers and is destined to become one of the most powerful beings in the world.
X is for X-POSED
At the end of season three, The Charmed Ones are exposed as witches on nationwide TV. Unfortunately, their pact with The Source to reverse time and undo the damage has devastating consequences. In the process, one of the sisters is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice. You might want to stock up on the tissues.
Y TU MUMMY TAMBIEN
Just one of many Charmed episode titles to play on the name of a classic
film, book or TV show. Other examples include Something Wicca This

A shape-shifting evil warlock who had a thing for Prue. In fact, they
